Reclaimed ~ Repurposed ~ Relaxing ~ Rejuvenate

We wanted to add a new concept in vacation rental accommodations for travelers whether coming to Cedar Point or visiting the north coast area.
For us, combining the idea of building a small, efficient cabin using reclaimed materials went hand in hand with our goal of being environmentally friendly and providing a unique, one of a kind accommodation.

We are proud to say the Dancing Fox Cabin is built from at least 95% reclaimed, repurposed, re-imagined and recycled materials

The bulk of the construction materials were originally vintage barn related. They range from hand-hewn beams, mid 1800's barn siding, hayloft flooring, wooden horse stall dividers, old metal roofing, corn crib wood, windows, antique slate chaulkboard and so much more!

Don’t worry though, the cabin’s interior elements retain all the creature comforts and amenities you are accustomed to. The careful gathering of recycled, handmade, primitive and antique pieces blended with tasteful décor establishes a soothingly mellow interior.

Why We Built The Cabin

The cabin’s concept began after our first lodging idea for travelers was borrowed from the Europeans. Our 1842 Greek Revival style home (fancy name for brick farmhouse) became a self catering guest house located within our home, offering upper level private accommodations featuring a complete kitchen and living quarters for guests.

With that thought in mind, the idea

- build something

- build something from scratch

- build something totally out of the ordinary

The final concept was to build utilizing as much re-purposed materials as possible. So began our quest and journey and Dancing Fox was born.
